Symposium (in French)

The Impacts of the Digital Age on the Accounting Profession

The new CPA Competency Map that has been in place since January 2019 describes the knowledge and skills that will be assessed by the CFE as of September 2020. The integration of data analysis and information systems aspects into each of the six areas of expertise is one of the major changes of this new competency map.

To enable accounting students to learn more about these topics and to better understand the impacts of the digital age on the accounting profession, an event will be held on November 6, 2019, from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm at HEC Montréal (in room Amphithéâtre Banque Nationale). This activity, organized by the CPA International Research Chair in Management Control at HEC Montréal, will bring together CPA professionals who will speak (in French) on various topics related to the evolution of the profession that is linked to the digital age. Cloud computing, visualization tools, data analysis and other topics will be discussed at this symposium, which will be chaired by Geneviève Mottard, President and CEO of the Quebec CPA Order.
