A group of 35 students from the Master of Management Control and Organizational Audit of the Institut d’administration des entreprises de Paris (IAE Paris) visited HEC Montréal from March 21 to 25, 2022. Hosted by the CPA International Research Chair in Management Control and the International Activities and Student Mobility Services, the students, accompanied by their professor Marion Soulerot, had the opportunity to discover Quebec and Montreal through the Learning Expedition in Management Control and Organizational Audit program, composed of various seminars and conferences. Although the last visit from IAE Paris was in 2019, this program is offered every year by HEC Montréal. Much to the delight of students, it is being held again this year for a fourth time.

At the end of their week-long stay, they attended multiple conferences presented by Laura Le Bouyonnec and Tony Lam, respectively auditor and forensic accountant at KPMG Canada, Hélène Racine, Vice-President, Qualification and Professional Development at the Quebec CPA Order, and Sophie Caudiu, founder and president of the accounting firm Eurada. They also met with Éric Ménard, Chief Financial Officer at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts.

In addition to these fruitful meetings, they held seminars on various topics related to management control, notably with Caroline Lambert, Anne Pezet, who also organized an “architectural safari” in Montreal, and Samuel Sponem, all professors in the Department of Accounting Studies at HEC Montréal, and with Marc-André Nadon, lecturer in the same department. Finally, they exchanged with the students of the CPA Committee of HEC Montréal.
